It’s not secret that I am a fan of driverless cars. That’s why this ad is disappointing.
For the pointer and good commentary, I thank Alex Tabarrok.

If you are a car afficianado like I am, then you are a bit wary of driverless cars. I know the reasons for them tend to be safety, but one of the reasons I like cars is the ability to drive them. If the car basically does that for you, the why spend the money on the buying and upkeep of a car? Most folks would just give up their cars and use public transport.
I can understand the idea, but it just seems to take away something that I enjoy doing and that is driving.
I certainly enjoy driving; I think you would see some new opportunities open up for private human driving areas or options for human driving in open roads perhaps.
Whoa stop the tape. Are you suggesting that appropriate driverless car policy would be to only permit driverless cars on the road? As in, human-operated cars would not be permitted anymore? Because that is something that I would definitely be against.
I wasn’t really suggesting it; I’m just saying it would be a potential option.
